Self-taught artist,  Marco Sbrocca is a painter based in Detroit , MI.  While his work is heavily influenced on techniques applied by such 19th century artists as Sargent, Bouguereau and others from the École des Beaux Arts, he also finds the approach to art from the Baroque and Renaissance periods influential, namely that of Rembrandt and DaVinci.

The painter, since 2017, inspired by contemporary artists such as Jeremy Mann, Nicola Samori and Francis Bacon studied techniques which amplified emotion through a sense of beauty and horror.

Marco finds in studying techniques from the past coupled with the freedom of artistic expression in the present, has best conveyed  his goal of fervent thought in the viewer.
